AGENEAL, Agência Municipal de Energia de Almada is a non-profit private association, established in March, 1999, the scope of which is to contribute to the increase of energy efficiency and to the improvement of the renewable energies use in the District of Almada, but it can also extend its scope to other regions. AGENEAL promotes the increasing importance of the local endogenous energetic resources, the divulging and application of energetic and environment efficiency measures, the use of solutions and technologies adequate to the preservation of energy and with less environmental impact. Thus promoting the creation of new economic activities and the creation of employment and contributing to the region's development.

T.S.T. – Transportes Sul do Tejo S.A., due to its dimension and positioning in the region's enterprise sector, as well as the interest shown for matters related to the use of alternative energies, is honoured to be one of the companies that is part of AGENEAL.

AGENEAL also represents Almada in similar European networks such as Energy Agencies SAVE network, Energie-Cités network, being also a member of ECEEE – European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy and APVE – Associação Portuguesa do Veículo Eléctrico.
